We want to reclaim the digital spaces of our city—events, parks, creators, artists, businesses, parties, and markets. We want the digital world to once again be a space where information is accessible to everyone, without depending on the whims of Facebook, Instagram, and Google. Our goal is to build a digital community that benefits us all, not just a few.
The internet expanded as a free space where we could connect and share without barriers. Today, however, it has turned into closed apps that manufacture digital addicts, whose ultimate purpose is to monetize us and absorb as much of our lifetime as possible.
The scene is everyday: children in a café swiping videos every 5 seconds next to their parents, teenagers at 2 a.m. watching the latest TikTok after 3 sleepless hours, grandparents seeking company in an endless Facebook feed on a Sunday afternoon.
Meta—Facebook and Instagram—is not your friend. Every time we post on Meta, we know we contribute to the addiction of millions, including over 10% of teens who spend more than 2.5 hours a day on Instagram. “Social media detox” has become common among young people trying to escape oversaturation, anxiety, or digital bullying. The manipulation of our brain is calculated: to keep us on screen as long as possible, while we consume disguised ads that are increasingly harder to detect. And every day, they refine their methods. Do you remember how Instagram was 10 years ago, when it was easy to find what you were looking for?
Small businesses, artists, and institutions that can’t afford websites strong enough to compete with Meta turn to social media for exposure as if they were their own personal pages. But they’re not.
They belong to Meta, and they’re only available while profitable. Hasn’t Facebook already demanded you scan your face in motion, threatening to delete all your messages, contacts, and photos, closing your account with no option to save your content? It has happened to me, and to some of our friends too.
More than one town hall manages 5 different Instagram accounts just to share events that never make it to their official sites, forcing citizens to scroll endlessly between hidden ads and algorithms designed to distract. Does this help create freer, better-informed citizens? Mentally healthier citizens? There is no alternative… but what if we build one?
This is just the beginning.
We’ve created the TeVienes Summer Awards 2025, with large A2 posters at local venues—only 10 exist! Find them all and send us a photo.
We encourage artists to link us across all their social profiles, as their first link.
We support local businesses in connecting their websites with TeVienes. A freelancer from Marbella helped us to develop a WordPress plugin so users can display events directly on their own websites.
We follow public institutions’ social media and add their events, completing missing details when necessary.
We speak one-on-one with foundations, museums, hotels, bullrings, delegations, and artists to explain what we do and where we’re headed.
We create promo videos for social media, track visibility, and grow responsibly while encouraging responsible digital use.
We talk daily with users—even weekends and holidays—to learn why they can’t find what they need.
We use Silicon Valley-level technology with a clear social commitment, improving usability with data science while keeping users anonymous.
We aim for top SEO results so you can find local artists and businesses without relying on Meta or TripAdvisor.
We integrate artificial intelligence to save time, ensure accurate content, and explore responsible uses.
Every day, we receive event submissions by email and WhatsApp—from prenatal classes to beach flamenco shows, chess tournaments, beach parties, and music festivals.
We don’t ask for your phone, email, full name, or address.
We don’t sell or give away your data.
We don’t install cookies to chase you with ads.
We don’t depend on subsidies or public aid.
We don’t grow on social media just to grow—we grow to provide a real alternative.
**We don’t want you addicted to our site—**we want you to find something fun in under 5 minutes and then get back to real life.
