About

✊ The Platform for the Dignity of the Self-Employed is calling for a peaceful demonstration in Málaga on Sunday, 30 November 2025. The gathering starts at 11:00 am in front of Málaga City Hall, from where the march will set off through the city centre. 🗺️ Route: Málaga City Hall → Paseo del Parque → Plaza de la Marina → Calle Marqués de Larios → Calle Granada → Plaza del Carbón → Calle Calderería → Plaza Uncibay → Calle Méndez Núñez → Calle Granada → Plaza de la Merced, where the event will end with the reading of the manifesto. 📣 Under the slogan “For decent working conditions!”, self-employed workers demand fair conditions, lower social security fees, better social protection and recognition of their work, in line with the national manifesto of the platform. 🕊️ The mobilisation is strictly peaceful and has been notified as such to the authorities. Police will be present to ensure safety and that the non-violent character of the march is respected. Coordinators remind everyone that each participant is responsible for their own actions and strongly request that the peaceful spirit of the demonstration be maintained at all times. 🖤 As a symbol of mourning for businesses that have been forced to close, people are invited to come dressed in black. Participants are also encouraged to wear a red glove on the right hand, representing the “economic bleeding” suffered by many freelancers, and to bring whistles and their own protest signs, always without political party or association logos: this is a non-partisan demonstration, open to anyone who supports these demands.

Frequently asked questions

The demonstration starts at 11:00 am with a gathering in front of Málaga City Hall. From there, the march sets off towards Plaza de la Marina and through the historic centre streets, finishing at Plaza de la Merced with the reading of the manifesto.

Self-employed workers, families, customers and anyone who supports the demands can take part. The platform stresses that this is a peaceful, non-partisan mobilisation, so political party or association flags and logos are not allowed; only messages related to the dignity of the self-employed.

The key demands are: a fair reduction and review of social security fees, stronger social protection comparable to that of employees (sick leave, pensions, maternity/paternity benefits), less bureaucracy and administrative obstacles, and recognition of the role of self-employed workers in the economy and local commerce. The national manifesto also calls for the implementation of VAT exemption for those billing under €85,000 a year, in line with the European directive.
