A solo by Javiera de la Fuente (Chile/Spain)—a flamenco dancer-researcher—braiding flamenco, voice and performance with Chile’s canto a lo poeta tradition, engaging audiences.

About

🎭 Border poetics. Canto a lo Poeta draws on Chile’s tradition of improvised sung verse (payadores, a lo divino/a lo humano) and weaves it with flamenco and performance, turning body and voice into a living archive. 🎶 Hybrid languages. De la Fuente works in liminal formats—lecture-performance, ritual, improvisation—and often partners with live musicians (e.g., guitarist Daniel Mejía) to open listening spaces between popular and contemporary cultures. 🌍 From Chile to Andalusia. Her practice bridges history/anthropology and the Sevillian dance school, with projects shown at institutions such as MACBA and Württembergischer Kunstverein, building pathways across contexts and communities.
