Contemporary Spanish dance built from negation to question ideas of “normality.”
🎭 Saying NO to move forward. NO uses negation as an engine: it speaks of concealment, reduction and disappearance to open a symbolic, intuitive space from which to rethink Spanish dance today. 🎶 Hybrid—tradition meets now. The work rubs flamenco/Spanish dance against contemporary tools, adding text and strong physicality. It features stage direction/advice by Marcos Morau (La Veronal), flamenco advice by Marco Flores, and an original score by Manuel Urbina / Flamante. 👥 Who they are. La Venidera is led by Irene Tena and Albert Hernández, former Spanish National Ballet dancers; the project is a co-production with Grec Festival, Centro Danza Matadero and Fira Mediterrània, and has been presented at Dansa València. 🏛️ In Marbella (TodoDanza). Staged at MGEC – Museo del Grabado Español Contemporáneo within the Movement & Abstraction strand. Please check the official listing for time and access details.
