About
Alameda Park is Marbella’s signature garden, laid out in the 18th century between the Old Town and the Mediterranean. Meandering paths thread under century-old ficus trees, jacarandas and palms that keep the park cool even on midsummer days. A 19th-century marble fountain forms the centerpiece, while hand-painted Andalusian tile benches depict local scenes.\n\nThe park suits families looking for shade, photographers chasing soft Andalusian light and anyone who needs a breather before strolling down Avenida del Mar to the sea. Mornings are serene for reading or sipping coffee; by sunset the space fills with couples and buskers. In December, festive lights turn the Alameda into a sparkling promenade. Marbella´s fair, food markets and children activities are often held in the Alameda´s park.

I stroll through Alameda Park most evenings. The cool shade of the ficus trees and the scent of orange blossom make you forget the city buzz. It’s my top tip for anyone wanting to feel Marbella’s true soul without leaving downtown.
