About

Anchoring Marbella’s Old Town, the Church of Our Lady of the Incarnation rose on the site of the main mosque after King Ferdinand’s 1485 reconquest, marking the city’s faith transition. The three-aisle basilica blends whitewashed walls with a gilded main altarpiece, fronted by a richly carved Rococo portal and a four-tier, 50 m bell-tower that dominates the skyline. Inside, visitors find the 1970s “Sol Mayor” organ—Spain’s most significant modern pipe organ, offering 60 stops across four keyboards and filling the nave with symphonic sound. Daily Masses, sacred-music concerts, and feast-day processions animate the parish, while the adjoining, tree-shaded Plaza de la Iglesia invites reflection before wandering Marbella’s cobbled lanes and tapas bars.
