Market´s square
Plaza del Mercado, right behind Marbella’s Municipal Market, is a pedestrian square with nearby parking that turns into a stage for concerts, pop-up stalls and shows during the San Bernabé Fair and other city events.
About
Tucked between Avenida del Mercado and Calle Quevedo, the Plaza del Mercado is the open-air extension of Marbella’s historic food market. Direct exits to the “El Mercado” underground car park and easy footpaths to the Old Town make it a natural meeting spot for residents finishing their grocery run—and for visitors catching their breath amid the whitewashed lanes. Every June the square steals the spotlight: the city council installs the Caseta Mi Hogar and a large stage for coronations, sevillanas dancing, workshops and free concerts. At last year’s San Bernabé celebrations, live music started at noon and María Lozano (from Se llama Copla) headlined at dusk, with lantern-lit tables keeping the fiesta alive into the night. Outside the “big week,” Turismo Marbella schedules craft markets, flamenco exhibitions and intimate summer festivals that keep this urban space buzzing all year.
