About Ojén
Tucked between the Sierra Blanca crags and the glittering Costa del Sol, Ojén (from the Arabic Joxán, “rough terrain” ) is a haven for hikers, history buffs and music lovers alike. Wander steep cobbled lanes to the El Molino Olive-Oil & Liqueur Museum, where 19th-century presses still creak and exhibits reveal how Ojén’s anise-flavoured aguardiente reached cafés from Paris to New Orleans (Picasso was a fan!). Just above town, prehistoric Ojén Caves offer panoramic balconies over the Mediterranean — perfect for sunset photos. A short stroll lands you in Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación Church, while forest trails lead straight into the UNESCO-listed Sierra de las Nieves National Park. Each second weekend of July, the village erupts with the Ojeando Festival, Spain’s cult indie weekender featuring multiple open-air stages, pool parties and 10,000+ fans dancing under the stars.

Reviews & Ratings
Stellar ratings, reviews, and proven reliability; this venue is recognised as one of the TeVienes community's favourites.
Ojeando blew my mind: tiny streets turned into festival stages, mountains echoing indie guitars, and the Mediterranean glinting below. I’m booking next year already!
We parked in the lower public lot and in minutes were sipping local aguardiente in sunlit caves — Ojén feels like a secret slice of authentic Andalusia!
Frequently asked questions
Free public parking sits at the village entrance on Avenida del Aceite; arrive early at weekends as spaces fill quickly, then walk 2-3 minutes uphill to the centre.
Ojeando is a two-day indie-music festival held every July (11-12 July 2025) across multiple outdoor stages — Plaza, Piscina & Molino — drawing top Spanish acts and 10,000 fans to Ojén’s narrow streets.
Don’t miss the El Molino Museum, the prehistoric caves, and trailheads into the Sierra de las Nieves; Marbella’s beaches are just 15 minutes’ drive for a post-hike dip.
