Founded to bring athletics closer to the people of Marbella, Club Atletismo Marbella del Sol now brings together youth, senior, and master athletes under the guidance of Óscar Iranzo, one of Andalusia’s most dedicated coaches. Training sessions combine speed, endurance, and strength work, held both on the municipal track and along the seaside promenade — promoting fitness, well-being, and camaraderie among runners of all levels. Recent achievements speak for themselves: 3rd overall at the 2025 Andalusian Masters Outdoor Championships, with standout performances from Salvador Zaragoza (age 85) and gold medals in the 4×100 m and 4×400 m mixed relays. Individual highlights include Cristian Benítez, runner-up at the Spanish 5,000 m Championships, and Florence Sargent, Andalusian U16 champion in the 1,000 m — both examples of the club’s growing national presence. Female talent also shines, with Amelia Salas placing 5th in the 800 m at the Spanish Indoor Masters, strengthening the club’s visibility in indoor competitions. Beyond medals, the club also supports community initiatives like the “Carrera del Kilo” (Food Drive Race) and is backed by Marbella’s “Marca Marbella” municipal program for promoting local athletic excellence. With an active Instagram presence — @camarbelladelsol — the club proudly shares its wins and welcomes new runners under its motto: “New colors, same dreams.”
