When she was given her first guitar at the age of 13 and discovered the magic of performing, María Peláe began shaping a style of her own: flamenco rhythms over urban beats and biting lyrics that fire off truths wrapped in humor. Born in Málaga in 1990, she left academia behind to devote herself fully to music, studying Social Work and Anthropology to enrich her songs with social insight. Her debut, Hipocondría (2016), opened doors to collaborations with Vanesa Martín, Pastora Soler, and Falete, and spawned viral hits like “La Niña” and “Mi Mujer.” With La Folcrónica (2022) she reaffirmed her combative stamp, while El Evangelio (2025)—a concept album turning each track into a “gospel” of feminine truths—has placed her on major festival line-ups and a nationwide tour from north to south. Peláe gained TV fame by finishing third on Tu Cara Me Suena 9 (2022), all while continuing to write for other artists and champion LGTBI+ activism. With more than 230,000 followers on Instagram and 65,000 on TikTok, her community pulses with every release, singing along to lyrics that empower, amuse, and provoke reflection.
