XIV “La Filarmónica Frente al Mar” No. 2

🎼 Symphonic music by the sea in Malaga On Friday 5 December 2025 at 7:00 p.m., the Edgar Neville Auditorium hosts programme no. 2 of the 14th “La Filarmónica Frente al Mar” Cycle, one of the main projects of the Malaga Philharmonic Orchestra (OFM) for the 2025-26 season, specially designed to attract new audiences and young classical music lovers. 🎹 World premiere of Ramón Grau’s “Concierto estigio” The first half of the concert is devoted to composer Ramón Grau with his Concierto estigio for piano and orchestra (33’), structured in Luna sin nombre, Llagas de amor, homage to F. G. Lorca and Caronte, with Ramón Grau himself as piano soloist. This world premiere underlines the OFM’s commitment to contemporary creation. 🌊 A symphonic journey through Smetana’s homeland The second half presents two symphonic poems from Má vlast (My Homeland) by Czech composer Bedřich Smetana: Blaník and Vltava, evocative pages that paint landscapes, legends and the flow of the Moldau river. The concert is conducted by Chuhei Iwasaki, with Santiago Pavón acting as presenter and educator, in keeping with the renewed format of the cycle that brings classical music closer to the general public.
