Marking her 100th birthday, the Bienal calls on fellow gaditano David Palomar, praised for his “booming vocals and emotive storytelling” to revisit her repertoire “a hundred ways”: tientos drenched in salt-air saudade, soleá that pivots into bulerías de Cádiz, and the cheeky tangos that earned Perla her nickname. Palomar’s quartet—Lara’s crisp compás, Jaén’s cajón heartbeat, plus palmas from Anabel Rivera, Reyes Martín & Jorge Bautista—fills the 480-seat Parque de la Constitución amphitheatre with Cádiz swagger. The recital headlines the Bienal’s Marbella strand, which sends top-tier flamenco to coastal stages all week.
