About the Event
The Calvary Procession 2026 in Marbella is one of the major events on Holy Thursday in the city. The Very Illustrious, Venerable, and Fervent Brotherhood of Nazarenes and the Brotherhood of Worship and Procession of the Most Holy Christ of Exaltation, Maria Santísima del Calvario, and Saint John the Evangelist will set off on April 2nd at 5:45 PM from the Ermita del Calvario, with a route that passes through several of the most recognizable streets in the center of Marbella. Although the event's title focuses on El Calvario, the procession includes two thrones: that of the Most Holy Christ of Exaltation and that of Maria Santísima del Calvario, accompanied by Saint John the Evangelist. The procession is notable for its departure from the hermitage, the visual strength of its icons, and the musical accompaniment of the Los Remedios Musical Group from Estepona and the Pulianas Music Band. Among the most notable moments are the departure from the Ermita del Calvario, passing through Peral Street, the reverence at the Tribune on Arte Street at 7:50 PM, the section through Huerta Chica, and the closing. Additionally, this edition incorporates premieres such as the glory of the canopy and the Virgin's bell, enhancing the heritage and visual value of one of the most recognizable processions of Holy Thursday in Marbella.
